Here’s some CUPE Local 829 history!
The CUPE “Bring a Child a Smile” PJ Campaign began in 2012 under the name “Bundle Our Kids.” Volunteers gathered on Dunmore Road, waving signs and collecting socks, mitts, and toques to support local schools and students in need. By 2016, the campaign had officially transitioned to CUPE Bring a Child a Smile. Evolving through the action of union members, the committee brings events (such as the Pyjama Collection Campaign) which continue to support our community today.
