Welcome to CUPE Local 829

In the spirit of reconciliation, CUPE Local 829 acknowledges that we live, play and work on Treaty 7 land.

We will honour and respect all Indigenous peoples and Metis Nations of our area, as well as the many Indigenous Territories, Metis Nations and Inuit communities, all across Canada.

The culture within these great groups should not be taken for granted. We should take the time to grow and understand their heritages, beliefs and relationships; to nature, their people and to this land we call Canada. It is a culture that truly defines the true meaning of respect and honour using integrity, equality and acceptance.

We believe that all Canadians would benefit greatly by educating themselves and gaining an understanding of these cultures, that first made Canada their home.
